Saint Francis of Assisi Ladies Guild

The Saint Francis Ladies Guild of Lebanon is celebrating 75 years. In 1949, five years after Saint Francis Church was established, a group of six women began the Ladies Guild. A constitution was adopted in February 1950.

The Guild was established to help provide spiritual enrichment, promote a spirit of cooperation and unity among its members and most importantly, to assist the pastor and parish. The Guild is a very vital and active organization which has accomplished and given much over the years to Saint Francis of Assisi.

Our activities include fundraising, service projects, activities for the parish children and activities for the members’ own enjoyment and spiritual development. Over the years, we serve our parish with First Communion and Confirmation receptions, priests and deacons’ welcomes and farewells, dinner dances, bake sales, parish picnic, WAIM’s annual Steeple Chase rest stop and selling soda at the Lebanon Fair. We hold a potluck dinner, Christmas party, and year-end banquet. A current project is filling Boxes of Joy, a part of Cross Catholic Outreach, providing boxes to children around the world. We bring in speakers on a variety of subjects, join Saint Andrews Guild for an evening, and go on a Mystery Ride to places such as St. Ann Melkite Greek Catholic Church and Padre Pio Foundation of America. Monies received, whether membership dues, donations, or proceeds from fundraisers, are used to purchase items for St. Francis.

We are a small group of dedicated women and together we accomplish much.

The Guild meets on the third Monday of the month from September to June. Membership is $ a year. All women are welcome to join us at our meetings and activities and are encouraged to become members.
