The mission of the Boy Scouts of America and Troop 13 is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.  We also strive to provide the scouts with awesome experiences and a fun time, so they remain interested and active.  Scouting provides unique, life-changing experiences youth can’t get anywhere else.

Troop 13 Info

Meeting: Monday Nights 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at St Andrews Church, Colchester, CT (except 3rd Monday)

 

Camping: We camp and participate in troop activities every month of the year. Activites include: camping, rock climbing, zip lining, COPE courses, canoeing, swimming, kayaking, hiking, buckskin, archery, and lots of fun.

Year End Trip.  We do an annual 5-6 day camping trip in late June.  Past adventures include: Stowe VT area, Lake Champaign area, Nantucket, Old Orchard Beach ME, Washington DC, Deleware River Gap, Lake George, and Gettysburg.  Activites include: camping, rock climbing, zip lining, COPE courses, canoeing, swimming, kayaking, hiking, buckskin, and lots of fun.

 

Summer Camp:  We do a full week of summer camp at Camp Yawgoog in RI.  The troop has been attending Yawgoog for over 25 years.  2015 is Yawgoog’s 100th anniversary and we will be there. http://www.yawgoog.com

 

High Adventure. Every two years the older scouts particiapte in a Troop trip to northern Maine and complete a 50 mile canoe camping trip in the remote wilderness of the Allagash Waterway.
